Texas A&M University-San Antonio
Texas A&M University-San Antonio is a public university in San Antonio, Texas. Founded in 1971 as one of the first regional universities in Texas, it serves nearly 20,000 students annually and offers degrees through 16 departments. With over 300 student organizations and 19 varsity sports teams, TAMUSSA is proud to be recognized as an institution that supports its students’ interests both inside and outside of the classroom.
The university’s first classes were held at the former Fox Technical College, before moving to its current location on 38 acres of land located off of Highway 90. The campus is part of a larger community college system known as Alamo Colleges and includes nearby Palo Alto College and Northeast Lakeview Community College. Students who complete their general education courses at TAMUSSA can transfer seamlessly to one of the other colleges within the Alamo Colleges District.

The dorm life and campus facilities are the things a student first considers when moving to a new area. Here at Texas A&M University-San Antonio, students have the choice between two different forms, each with its advantages and disadvantages. The on-campus living is offered in both suites or traditional hall-style rooms.
The suite community consists of eight residents that share four private bedrooms, two bathrooms, and a common area.
The traditional hall-style rooms consist of eight or more students sharing one bathroom with community sinks per floor. This option is for student who prefers their own private space without having to share it with too many people. The Texas A&M University-San Antonio campus facilities are extremely nice and kept up very well. The student center is a great place to study, grab some food, or just hang out with friends because it’s open until 11 pm every day of the week.
The cafeteria located in the Academic building serves various hot meals for breakfast, lunch, and dinner so students don’t have to leave campus if they are short on time between classes.
Texas A&M University-San Antonio also has a full-service Starbucks located in the student center for all of those coffee lovers out there! If you are looking to catch some rays or just relax by the pool, Texas A&M University-San Antonio has that too. The Rec Center is open until midnight every night so students can work out or just hang out with friends. The Texas A&M University-San Antonio campus facilities are excellently maintained, making it the perfect option not just for San Antonio, Texas, and Bexar County students, but for anyone all over the country!
