Yanaguana Garden at Hemisfair

The Yanaguana Garden at Hemisfair is a popular destination for locals of the city of San Antonio and visitors alike. The garden, which was originally built in the 1940s as part of the world’s fair, features a variety of flora and fauna from both hemispheres.

Visitors can enjoy an array of activities including strolling through the gardens, picnicking on shaded benches, or taking in live music performances given by local bands.

In addition to the plants and animals, there are incredible views of downtown from all around. Visitors can also watch a variety of birds as they swoop through the garden’s trees. The best time of year for viewing wildlife is during winter when many migratory species visit San Antonio on their way southward.

There is no entrance fee to visit the garden. It is open from dawn until dusk and can be reached by car, bike, or on foot. Visitors should carry a bottle of water when visiting as there are few drinking fountains in the park. There are also restrooms available within walking distance.

The San Antonio River Walk connects to Yanaguana Garden and provides a convenient way for visitors to get there. Of course, the best way to explore it is by foot or bike.

Yanaguana Garden can be found at Hemisfair Park near downtown San Antonio on South Alamo Street between Cesar Chavez Boulevard and Market Street in south-central San Antonio, Texas.
